Year you first registered / applied with IIBF for JAIIB.
IIBF holds JAIIB twice a year. In 2026: JAIIB in May and November; CAIIB in May/June and December.
Required for an accurate leftover count (default 1 if you just started). Applying counts as an attempt even if you do not sit. Skipped windows do not consume an attempt. Include an upcoming cycle if you already registered for it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many attempts are allowed in JAIIB?
IIBF gives 5 attempts to complete JAIIB, within a maximum period of 3 years from first registration, whichever is earlier. The 5 attempts need not be consecutive. Source: IIBF JAIIB Rules & Syllabus 2026 (PDF dated 23.02.2026).
Is JAIIB 5 attempts or 3 years?
Both apply: you must pass within 5 attempts or 3 years, whichever comes first. If you use all 5 attempts before 3 years are over, you must re-enrol. If 3 years expire before you use 5 attempts, you must also re-enrol. Credits for papers already passed are not carried into a fresh enrolment.
What counts as a JAIIB attempt?
IIBF counts an attempt when you apply for the examination, whether or not you appear. Skipping a May/June or Nov/Dec window without applying does not use an attempt. Debarment periods still count toward attempts. Register separately for every attempt.
How do I know my last JAIIB attempt year or session?
IIBF holds JAIIB twice a year (in 2026: May and November). Three years from first registration is about 6 exam windows, but only 5 attempts are allowed. Your last eligible session is the earlier of: the sitting that would be your 5th application if you use every remaining cycle, or the last sitting still inside the 3-year window. Enter first registration year, first cycle, and how many times you have applied so far — year alone cannot account for skipped sittings.
Who is eligible for JAIIB?
JAIIB is open to ordinary members of IIBF (typically staff of banks/FIs whose employer is an Institutional member). Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent, with limited cadre-based exceptions set out in the official rules. There is no IIBF age-based attempt relaxation. Confirm membership and eligibility on iibf.org.in.
Where can I read the official JAIIB attempt rule?
See IIBF JAIIB Rules & Syllabus 2026 on iibf.org.in (PDF titled JAIIB-Final_Exam, dated 23.02.2026). Rules can change; always verify the latest document before registering.
